Description
The Momcozy Contact Nipple Shield in 20mm is a mid-sized option from Momcozy's nipple shield range, created to help mothers navigate common breastfeeding difficulties such as flat or inverted nipples, a shallow or painful latch, nipple soreness and an overactive milk letdown. Placed over the nipple before a feed, the shield gives a baby a more consistent, easier surface to latch onto, which can help feeding sessions feel calmer and less painful for a mother who is still finding her rhythm with breastfeeding. Sized at 20mm, this shield sits in the middle of Momcozy's size range and is intended for mothers whose nipple diameter falls between the smaller 17mm and larger 24mm options, making it a sensible starting point for many mothers trying a shield for the first time. It is made from ultra-thin, super-soft silicone, moulded to feel as close as possible to skin, and is 100 percent food-grade, BPA-free and BPS-free, so it is safe for extended, repeated use throughout the breastfeeding journey without introducing anything harmful between mother and baby. The shield's cut-out design is built specifically to maximise skin-to-skin contact during feeding, so that even with the shield in place, more of the mother's breast remains in contact with the baby's face than with a solid, uncut shield design. A 2mm opening at the tip is sized to let milk flow through easily, supporting an efficient feed rather than leaving the baby working harder than necessary to draw milk through the shield. Cleaning is simple since the shield is entirely silicone, so it can be washed with warm soapy water after each use and sterilised regularly using steam, boiling water or a microwave steriliser bag, the same way a bottle or pump part would be cared for. A pink storage case is included, sized generously so that alongside the shield it can also carry a few other small nursery items such as pacifiers, pacifier clips or a toddler spoon, which is handy for keeping breastfeeding accessories together in one place while travelling. At around 0.1kg and packaged compactly at 4.09 x 3.27 x 1.85cm, this 20mm shield is designed for breastfeeding mothers aged 18 and above and works well as a mid-range option to try before sizing up or down based on comfort and feeding success. Momcozy offers this same contact nipple shield design across 17mm, 20mm and 24mm sizes, so a mother can move to a smaller or larger size if the initial fit does not feel quite right for her own shape. Momcozy designed this shield, like the rest of its breastfeeding line, around the everyday realities mothers face, aiming to make a difficult stretch of early parenthood just a little more manageable.
