Description

The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is a compact standard zoom built for APS-C Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It covers a 27-75mm equivalent range with a constant F2.8 aperture, making it easy to shoot in low light and to create soft, attractive background blur for portraits and close-ups. Thirteen elements in ten groups, including one SLD and three glass-moulded aspherical elements, keep images sharp while limiting distortion and colour fringing, and in-camera aberration correction refines results further. At just 290 g and 76.5 mm long on Sony E-mount, it matches the portability of small mirrorless bodies. A stepping motor delivers fast, near-silent autofocus for video, vlogging and gimbal work, and a 12.1 cm minimum focusing distance at the wide end gives up to 1:2.8 magnification. A petal-type hood and front and rear caps are supplied.
